Matt Taylor

Born in England but now living in Christchurch, artist Matt Taylor studied some kind of art form from knee high to ‘96. Travel and children then took up any spare time until he re-ignited his old flame and picked up his paint brushes again in 2017 and has been prolific ever since.

Heavily inspired by the earthquakes and street art he wanted to create vibrant and striking pieces in contrast to the streets of rubble and ruin. So he picked up a builder’s fluro spray can and put his addiction with analog-loving vinyl music to good use.

He didn’t want album art to get lost during the digital age. So being a collector of a more tangible nostalgic nature, decided to support artists and incorporate his most beloved album covers and overlay them with famous figures in the music industry. Turning art and music into a polygamous marriage of pop art.
